New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

Stacking is still _kinda_ possible, but since the new system puts the farm right up against the blocks, it's much more difficult to route pipes around. It was nice when there was a 3-block air-gap around the machines, perfect for engines, pipes, autocrafting tables, etc. Also, just fyi, I'm...

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

One reason I liked to "stack" farms was to reduce the number of loaded chunks.. What's better for a server: 1 busy chunk (multiple farms stacked), or several light chunks (which will have mob spawns, lighting, etc all going on as well)? And I don't think Sengir really had any problem with...

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

Ah, so glad to see that changelog with a recipe from Old-style machines to the new Blocks. Once that goes live, I just might go ahead and convert my 2 peatbogs & treefarm over. As it stands now, they work and I'm not inclined to change them.

    Direwolf20 - changing 1.4.7 back to 1.4.6?

At the top of the launcher there's a pulldown that probably says "Recommended". hit that and select "4", and then go to your options & hit "Force Update". That'll re-download the 1.4.6 v4 of the pack and you'll be back before the v5 update.

    Tips?

The Rotary Macerator requires the "Advanced Machines" mod, which isn't part of the Direwolf20 pack.

    Tale of Kingdoms + DW20

I've got Tale of kingdoms loaded into the DW20 (v4) mod pack, having lots of fun with my almost finished tier3 kingdom. However, I've had a few NPC's "disappear", namely my Logging Foreman, my Blacksmith, and my Stockbroker. Anyone here have any idea how to get them back?

    Automating Electrical Engines?

umm, no.. That's why I said 5 spawners: Each spawner can be "consumed" by the soul shard for 200 souls. 5x200 = 1000 ,so just a handful more along the way and you have your 1024 kills = Tier5 spawner.

    Automating Electrical Engines?

It's not too bad really, resource-wise. 1 diamond = 3 soul shards, then go find 5 blaze spawners in the nether, and you're done. The soul cage is just 8 iron bars, so 6 iron can make 2 cages, and then just an empty room with some water & a collection system (obsidian pipe or transposer)...

    Automating Electrical Engines?

I'm not familiar with the Mindcrack pack, but does it have soul shards? Get a T5 Blaze Spawner set in the overworld (surprisingly easy to make, just takes a lot of nether exploration) and then you have unlimited Blaze Rods to pump into generators for fuel.

    Tips?

Yeah, but since the blast furnace requires Coal Coke for fuel, another reason to get the Coke Ovens up soon (double since it's just sand and clay). And in the DW20 pack, I think the Blast Furnace is the only way to get Steel (only way I've found anyway, I'm waiting on my 28 iron blocks to smelt...

    Automating Electrical Engines?

Yeah.. If you can get the water requirements under control (hurrah for Aqueous Accumulators!) then the Hobbyist engines are a great start. And the upgraded ones are fantastic too, Steam is so much easier to work with than Biomass or Oil.

    Automating Electrical Engines?

Definitely not true for all engines (I've had several combustion engines blow in my minecraft career). The steam engines are special, they seem to be capable of automatically clocking themselves back to avoid explosions. I've seen it with Hobbyist, Commercial, and Industrial steam engines.

    Automating Electrical Engines?

One other option that I've come to love is using Redstone Energy Cells. The cell itself is a bit of work, but then you can connect all your engines to it and use it like a Batbox for MJ power. You'll still need to turn the electric engine on and off if the cell ever fills (bit that will take a...

    Tips?

If you plan on doing anything with rails _ever_, get a Coke Oven up early. Creosote and Steel take a long time, and you don't want to have to wait later. And use the RP2 gems for good sturdy tools (Picks, Swords, Axes) before you get into IC2 Drills or Thaumcraft tools. They're cheap and easy...

    Direwolf's inventory Tricks

Come to find out, it _does_ work with the macbook trackpad, it's just ridiculously oversensitive. The slightest scroll and I moved a dozen or so items. Still, it's a neat trick. As for hooking up a mouse: I often play Minecraft while traveling so space is a premium (both in my carryons...

    Direwolf's inventory Tricks

Yeah, but when I try to get multiples (like 3 wood planks) they don't stack in my inventory..

    Direwolf's inventory Tricks

What mod/keys allow Direwolf to manipulate his inventory the way he does? (Moving a single item up and down between chests and inventory) I thought it was Inventory Tweaks, but I can't find anything on their website about it.

Pausing cart is slower than running in Mindcrack v7

If you turn the quarry & associated engines off, does it get smooth?
