Instead of nerfing, I believe some buffing is required for those flowers that requires one to think ahead and plan out the setup.
For example, Entropinium (sp?) produces too little mana per tnt IMO. Too much planning for too little in returns.

Yes, a Harvester will keep cutting if there are connected leaves. E.g. If you placed down a Harvester in a roofed forest, most of the trees will be fell.
Talking about java arguments, anyone has any recommended arguments to share? I'm running MMC launcher on Java 8 on default setting right now and my framerate is getting really bad near my base.

IIRC, 50% chance of getting a silicon for each sand. While clay blocks have a 80% chance of getting you a silicon and gives you back two balls of clay.

RailCraft is in Infinity? If it is, you can run three 36 HP solid fueled Steam boilers which will provide a total of 2160 mb/t of steam. A reactor turbine, with enderium coil and supplied with 2000 mb/t of steam can easily generates up to around 24000 RF/t if I am not mistaken.

As for the cactus, maybe you get cactus green normally but gets cactus blocks if you used shears yet keeps the cactus crop intact?
Also COFH mods are pretty modular compared to EIO. You can pick what you want with COFH mods while EIO comes in a big package.
But I don't see why both of them can't coexist.
