Along with the hardened gravel that was suggested seperatley, there is an exposed zombie dungeon fairly close to base that I tend to use for early cobble.

Yes, it was early game and I wasn't fully outfitted. FIgured I'd run out to get some cobble for the first furnace, hammer, and such...... I should have stopped far earlier, setup a furnace, and burned the few combustible items in the inventory...... It may just have gotten me home.

You need to hit escape, press the open to lan button, hit enable cheats, and finally hit start lan world. At that point you will be allowed to enter commands. Generally speaking I will follow that up with a save and exit to reset to a normal world so that I don't forget about the disabled pause.

Zerkai, I suspect you simply need to build yourself a high oven, I've been kicking around in a test world and there do appear to be problems with the fire spread and chainmaile drop methods.

The no flint dropped when mining gravel is a common feature of these iguana packs. They generally rely upon the shapeless recipe. Not sure if it's a formal feature of iguana tweaks though.

Likely the easiest way to take care of the mob spawning issue is to simply build your trap away from the dungeon. I'd pick a spire, build a mini base and construct a mob farm in it/around it. Another alternative would be to setup your trap above a height of say 200. Once your toon is at least...
