    [1.7.10] Marooned

I had to chuckle recently as I was using a nearby slime Island as a platform to hammer up grout materials, the view reminded me a bit of a heart Subliminally sending messages to the alien overlords? Obviously in hindsight it at best is a rather passing resemblance, but as the screenshot was...

What about just adding the dead bushes to the list of items that can go in the barrels for composting?

I have only ever bothered making stone lanterns. You know, now that I think on it, with dark creepers included there will likely be sufficient torches available. *remembers the time he had an ender creeper show up in his smeltery room....* Wonerfully vile little creatures that can appear in a...

as far as special mobs, are you planning on including the drowning creeper? It is rather exploitable on maps where water is an important resource.

Oh believe me, I'm quite aware. My favorite pack of all time is blood and bones..... In which such mobs play a major role. TBH im playing other packs because the nether in BnB won't run on my "toaster". For the longest time I was playing blood and bones in hardcore mode, but I just couldn't...

Have you ever considered modifying the lantern recipes to take obsidian torches? It is a minor thing, but I for one prefer lanterns over torches/candles/jack o lanterns.

So, does biome directly effect spawn rates? I decided to hit the pause button on my frozen river map and take a crack at the savanah. On frozen river I got such poor spawn rates I built a rudimentary string farm around a cave spider spawner in order to complete my sieve..... I don't believe...

Perhaps a system like discussed in the link below to keep things interesting while trying to pillar up? I'd suggest it would represent defensive fire from skeletons defending the spire..... http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/180186/rain-arrows-in-random-positions-within-bounds

delerium, yes comparing it to a desert island is problematic, as if I were on a desert island the need for a vast variety would not be a huge concern. Yet in a true survival circumstances we'd be investing a huge percentage of our days establishing a stable food supply. Spice of life also...

You have lots of leeway initialy regarding food as for a considerable period what you eat is not counted by hunger overhaul. Yes you do need to pay attention to food and concentrate on your food supply early, but for a game designed around "desert island" survival it fits the theme. I for one...

Crash Landing, help, venting and discussion!

I've always used an autonomous activator to run the sieve and a stream of water flowing over the sieve to carry the output to a hopper. I tend to bury it below grad to make sure none of the output bounces out ofthe water stream. Not sure just how automated you want it though. -edit- look...

A furnace will power the crucible. I got my first lava by smelting cane into sugar charcoal and then smelting red sand into glass.... Until the crucible placed atop the furnace had finished melting cobblestone. It was then a simple matter of removing the furnace and using lava to heat the...

    Best overall pve weapon tinkers

Yeah, for me the pan is a weapon of choice after I have a mobile farm and I just need something to get the mobs out of the way, and yes, it is most definitely an open terrain weapon.

Early game lighting will be candles made from beeswax or torches made with tinkers stone rods. In the real early game I tend to steal lamps from the well structures. -edit- spelling, added lamp comment.

No one has as of yet mentioned a frying pan..... Add some pistons and just say goodbye to mobs.

For an everyday 'wandering around' weapon the long swords lunge/leap ability is rather hard to pass up. Obviously less of a bonus once you get jetpack type items of course.

I use 9x9 plots which allows me to place one each of the gardens in the center square. These also fit well with standard farm plots buit around a central water source. This way I am fully setup to switch them to tilled soil once ive discovered/bred more conventional seed stocks. There are going...

    [1.7.10] Marooned

That explains why I had issues initially. There are plenty of ways to build a berry farm..... I was just scratching my head as to why such a simple design hadn't worked for me when it did for you. In this case I just built a dugout style tunnel, exploiting the shallow bedrock to prevent...

    [1.7.10] Marooned

It shouldn't take many cycles of the 'taint nothing' quest to get at least one gold and one iron ore bush. That said there is a lot that is gated behind the spruce sieve. I for instance waited far to long initially getting the ore berry farm setup. i miss the days when slabs made perfect de...

    [1.7.10] Marooned

I'm playing 1.2.1 and have noted that creepers are netting positive amounts of materials. For instance when one blows up a fruit tree for me I can put everything back and have extra jungle wood in my inventory.
