[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Also remember that you are on a giant dustball of a planet that is starting out hot. The open air isn't well ventilated as far as dispersing heat goes.

The heat radius on the survivalist generator is only about two or three blocks from what I can tell. If I put it in the wall where the accumulators start I can stand against the opposite wall and be at normal or slightly elevated heat.

City Exploration Part 4: Alien Architecture Crash Landing has several different types of buildings scattered throughout the cities. Each has a predefined layout, and chests and spawners will only ever show up in certain spots. There will not always be a chest or spawner at those spots...

I'm pretty sure the scythe from TiC can shear leaves as well, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. This however requires 4 blocks of metal and 3 seared bricks to make the tool forge, so its not an option right off the bat. Also, you can't make grout in 1.1.12 pack, you have to scavenge the...

There is a cheap source of early power. If you craft a potato with a lead nugget and a redstone dust you get a Tuberous Flux Capacitor with 16k RF. It isn't rechargeable, but as a bonus when you use all the power you get a baked potato!

    1) Torches will stop mob spawns, but they do put off heat. Glowstone microblocks are a good option for lighting and they don't produce heat. 8 glowstone dust can make 2 glowstone blocks, which can be cut down with a saw into 64 glowstone nooks, each of which light up the area of a full...

That is odd, I just tried this again and it works for me. Just to double check, are you using the cobble blackstone, or the gravel? Also, what version are you playing and have you changed any config settings?

City Exploration Part 3: Branching Out Now that you have a relatively safe foothold in the city it is time to expand. The basic procedure for expansion is easy. From the top of your building couch over to the edge and start building a cobble bridge to the next building you want to invade. If...

Also another quick tip, the cobble blackstone to the east of the shuttle can be used to make any recipe that uses vanilla cobble, including cobble slabs and a slab furnace.

City Exploration: Part 2, Establishing an Outpost The first step of exploring the cities is creating a safe way to get from your base to the city and back. This is where the glider will come in to play first. From the top of your shuttle build a pole up to about Y126. To start with you will...

City Exploration: Part 1, Gearing Up The first thing you will need to do before really exploring and clearing out the city is gatherthe needed supplies to survive the effort. My typical load includes the following items, most of which can be aquired fairly early. -2-3 stacks of cobblestone for...

Waiting to eat until you are low on hunger and then eating multiple food items at once let's you maximize the saturation gain from your food, and let's you go longer before you have to eat again. Also, centralizing your "hot" blocks (lava, generators, furnaces, etc.) allows you to avoid over...

Covers stop both fires from starting and mobs from spawning. You can make the area around pyrothium and on top of walls relatively safe for a small material investment.

I can say that I've died in cities a few times and safely made it to my synch shell. I have a chicken chunks loader set up at my base, and the synch shell is parked in the ship, in a corner outside the bridge.
