    Thaumcraft 4.2 Teaser Video Discussion

Versioning schemes go however the mod author wants them to go, but major changes to behaviour count for major version bumps in my book. I'd go by a slightly modified variant of the http://semver.org/ scheme, where big interface changes count as "API breaking". Because, honestly, 4.0 to 4.1 was a...

Can one edit their FTB Server save files using MCEdit or something similar?

Cauldron would let you install WorldEdit, if you can figure out how to get it working, as well as other bukkit plugins that might be useful. It would be the right direction for the long term, especially for a public or semi-public server. Short term, though, the steps you say you've taken to...

    Importing to ME

@Ieldra In my case, I always have the most common stuff ((cobble)stone, dirt, gravel, sand, anything else super-common) being stored in deep storage units, and the rest of the stuff comes in slowly enough that just making sure I always have at least half of an ME drive with 1k storage disks...

    FPS (frames per second) improvement

I'm sorry to report that reducing particle count has been the only thing to have ever had a positive impact on my framerate, with reducing view depth a distant second, and only mattering when trying to play on a severely underpowered machine. Optifine, even when it didn't break things, never...

    Thaumcraft 4.2 Teaser Video Discussion

I continue to be highly disturbed by the Thaumcraft versioning scheme. 4.1 really struck me as a v5, so this would be... v6, probably? Then again, I'm sure Azanor knows better than I do what makes sense for his mod.

Really stupid things that people have said about Modded MC(Off topicness makes moderators tired)

Not entirely on-topic, but RF Void adds only one item. I wouldn't have wanted to write as a jarmod, though. Ugh.

GasCraft - need help with lag

I've done fracking of shale gas in Monster 1.1.2 and it gave the expected gas. Notably, I also did this with a quarried shale resource that I placed in the world after the fact. What I did not try was shale oil -- I couldn't find any. Also, quarrying the shale resources is almost certainly a...

    Minimum spec for ftb

Depends on the pack, and that CPU looks a little light, but I'd say it should run okay. Why not install FTB on that machine and test it with your account first?

RF Void -- consume infinite RF!

It's okay, it took about 30 minutes to write, and most of that was just ripping out the innards of the mod I gutted to make this one. I'm not sure I'll ever use it myself.

    Minetweaker....

Yeah, MineTweaker 3 has a different syntax. I'd say that would be the most likely source of the issues.

RF Void -- consume infinite RF!

That's not the block's GUI, that's an EnderIO monitor showing that power is being consumed as fast as it's being produced. The block has no GUI.

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

I'm sure you got pinged for this already, but I made you a mod. Because it was quicker than trying to find the one I vaguely remembered already existing.

RF Void -- consume infinite RF!

In response to @rhn's need for a block consuming infinite RF: I made a mod. Download v0.1 from here, put it in your mods folder, and it should just work. It looks like an untextured block: It has no recipe, but can be pulled out of NEI or the creative inventory. It consumes all the...

    Sotrage/Sorting

Yup. Nothing beats the first time you set up a quarry outputting to a series of diamond pipes routing stuff into double chests.

Tinker's Steelworks for Newbies (A Reference Guide for the Rest Of Us!)

Past a certain (relatively early) version of Agrarian Skies, the gravel and sand ore blocks were removed from being ore-dictionary equivalent to regular (i.e. stone) ore blocks. This was done to prevent the exploit wherein one could oredict-unify a dust ore block into a gravel ore block, pound...

Not Receiving Aspects From Scanning Objects??

Maybe that was the joke? I couldn't tell, I have signatures turned off across the board here. Amazing how much that helps readability.

    Sotrage/Sorting

This may just be my own personal history, but I strongly encourage everyone to try all the lesser sorting systems *once*. I started with vanilla minecraft and the warehouse of chests with signs, moved up to various semi-automatic systems, got my mind blown by Logistics Pipes when they came on...

(Agrarian Skies) Magnum torch in Multiplayer Home Sweet Home map?

Mobs won't spawn closer than 24 blocks from a player or from the world spawn point. Likewise, mobs that spawn further than 128 blocks from a player will instantly despawn (in all cases referring to euclidean distances between points, so the shapes are spheres). None of this is directly relevant...

    Minetweaker....

Well, we can rule out everything that's in my variant of Monster, then. That may help reduce the number of things you'd need to check.

Frequent crashes on new machine: Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

You sure you don't just have spotty WiFi? Try changing what channel the wireless network is using. Edit: Actually, one other thing comes to mind -- being a laptop, what kind of switch does it have for physically turning off the wifi? If it's a toggle, see if she might not be accidentally...
