The point is, in both cases it was some idiot's "bright idea" that ended up being axed. If it had not been axed before release, fine, be paranoid, but in both of these cases neither feature saw the light of day. Yet it still lives on in your hearts. Paranoia. :)

Yep exactly. In a team that functions more like a democracy, that's definitely a danger. I don't see such a situation arising with Microsoft at the helm. Even if Microsoft leaves them be for the most part, they've still got to be a bit more focused than before. No more bunnies. :P
