    Infinite Dyes / Lapiz

A lot of the colors are available from flowers and you can automate flower farms even in vanilla. It does require bone meal, but that should be the least troublesome resource.

    Wind Mill Doesn't Work

I would think the copper cable is too long. Switch it out with Tin Cables or move the Batbox closer to the Wind Mill.

    Buildcraft has (more) awesome features

There has already been a few versions with support for both string tags and static ids so that players can convert their saves. In BuildCraft 5 the support for the static IDs will be gone. The support for legacy ids are actually already gone in the version that are demonstrated in the video above.

    Buildcraft has (more) awesome features

The gates in BuildCraft is the reason why I started playing with mods. My first 2 worlds with mods were BuildCraft only. I'm now convinced he has created the most brilliant cross mod interaction feature ever to be invented. The gates themselves are actually very dumb. The choices you can pick...

1.6 Alternative to RC Boilers for 100MJ+ power ?

I don't think anyone truly hates BuildCraft power, they simply found something more shiny. No one would have cared about a little bit of perdition if it wasn't for the fact that they can now avoid it more easily by switching power type. If Thermal Expansion had stayed with BuildCraft power, the...

1.6 Alternative to RC Boilers for 100MJ+ power ?

There has been no change to BuildCraft as such. The change is that you can no longer use Thermal Expansion to transport BC power. That is not a nerf to BuildCraft, but a change to Thermal Expansion. If you are unhappy with that you should complain to The CoFH team. The old conductive pipes...

Why don't people like IC2 anymore?

Is anyone able to explain what "difficulty" would mean in the context of tech mods? What would make something harder than something else? Does anyone have any good examples? When answering this question, try also to explain why you picked the mods you picked.

    Thaumcraft 4 Research Help

I think you can use runes that are not part of the research to block paths.

    Pumping oil wells help

Sludge from MFR? I don't know. I can't see anything wrong with your setup in the picture.

    Pumping oil wells help

Maybe it's not Oil from BuildCraft, but Oil from Galacticraft.

    Forestry Alveary Stabiliser Mechanics?

It simply prevents mutations. If you put a Common Princess and a Cultivated Drone in an Alveary with a Stabilizer block the chance to get the mutations: Noble, Diligent, etc is zero. This is very useful if you want to transfer a trait from the drone to the princess. For example high fertility...

New GUI for the BC Filler

The new GUI was made by CovertJaguar and the Cylinder pattern was made by someone completely new to the project. SpaceToad wasn't involved at all.

New GUI for the BC Filler

Today someone submitted a pull request giving the Filler a Cylinder pattern as well. :)

Thermal Expansion 3.0!!! No More Beta! Thanks KL!

It was a little bit more complex than that. The old BuildCraft API was more flexible and it was used by a fair amount of different mods. The problem was that very few actually respected the BuildCraft power implementation. For example, BuildCraft power in Thermal Expansion wasn't exactly the...

Hello, I'd like to share with you all how storing energy in BuildCraft works.

You don't really need wires, plugs or facades before you start to get a little bit more advanced with gates so I don't see the big fuss. I for one always make an Assembly table and a few Lasers long before anything resembling a house. I dig a hole in a mountain and set up shop there. It's really...

Hello, I'd like to share with you all how storing energy in BuildCraft works.

I use it in actual setups because it is a "challenge". It's not really that hard, but BuildCraft does involve a few elements that you don't need to consider when using Thermal Expansion. It means I spend more time figuring things out while trying to get around and avoid elements like power loss...

Hello, I'd like to share with you all how storing energy in BuildCraft works.

This is actually some of the things that makes BuildCraft an interesting choice. It presents new problems you don't have with for example Thermal Expansoin. It means variation. BuildCraft has made power production and maintenance into a game play element while many alternatives like for example...

Hello, I'd like to share with you all how storing energy in BuildCraft works.

@SlightlyVisible I appreciate the effort. I've previously tried to use exactly the same reasoning, but Thermal Expansion has warped most players expectations of MJ power to such a degree that it's a lost cause. Just let it rest. BuildCraft might actually get its own way of storing a limited...

    Spacetoad is back to modding

The irony is that Thermal Expansion actually still have support for BuildCraft power. The conduits can directly power any machine based on BC power. I honestly wish the support was dropped completely. There are many players here that I'm sure would miss the ability to use Forestry, RailCraft...
