At the very least the bone bow- i've already researched bones and bows so it's un-unlockable. I don't know if i'm missing more hidden researches, for obvious reasons.

The one thing about the new update that bugs me is the legacy-driven inaccessible hidden research. I can't tell if I'm blindingly missing steps or just unlucky with some of the research.

I'm pretty sure TiC adds a stencil+string way to craft a book. If you also have thermal expansion you can make books from wood and cotton alone (three logs in the pulverizer can be crafted to 3 paper)

What about an experiment based research- you make an experiment (via in-world structures, crafting, creative use of machines) to unlock the next tech in the tree. You could easily integrate it with thaumcraft research by making the experiment "record the result" on a note which you'd then need...

Where can i find up-to-date info on steam boiler mechanics, steam dynamo input rates, and speed and energy requirement of various mod machines? Most wikis seem to be stuck at 1.4 at best, and in-game tool-tips and knowledge base, especially for work speed of machines and liquid use, are lacking...

I think there may be a greater need for an infusion guide... Anyway using redundant items on the pedestals is possible at nearly all progression levels and is at any rate better than keeping them ready in your inventory a-la direwolf.
