Running Red: Help Venting and Discussion Thread!

The high-grade apples give you like 2 minutes of regeneration, no need to brew up potions for that... But it doesn't matter. The regeneration effect is not fast enough. If you doubled the speed of it, it would still not be fast enough. This recipe sucks 5 hearts worth of blood in ca. 3 seconds...

Ummm. Whenever I do run out of blood on an in-progress recipe, I start losing progress at the same rate as I was gaining it before. The guides I have read say the same thing, too. Meaning this recipe will lose about a bucket's worth of progress every 3-4 seconds when you run out. That is many...

Okay, I'm stumped, the Blood Magic noob that I am. How do I get the tier 3 orb crafted? It requires 2.5 times what the altar can store, and in contrast to the other recipes that drain at a quaint pace, this one will suck the thing dry before even a single bucket has a chance to filter in from...

Iron oreberries in a pulverizer. Many recipes are nonstandard, using NEI to look at where things come from is highly recommended ;)

I almost built something out of it! I just barely noticed in time when it didn't want to stack with the normal variant.

Yeeeaaahhh... "reward", sure... don't think I didn't see the hidden "present" you slipped in there, you villain! :p

I did manage to get a meadows hive on my sixth attempt. Ironically the first one I actually placed on the island where the other hives were, and that instantly worked. And in regards to progress, I was afraid I'd have to breed something to progress. I mean, there were multiple quests and that...

"[STDOUT] You have some mods with DRM, you must remove these to continue"

Psssst... you did see I just posted that some 35 minutes before, yes...? *Ahem* How DARE you not read my post! I'm going to make a FML pull request that bans your username from ever loading into modded Minecraft again! </drama>

"[STDOUT] You have some mods with DRM, you must remove these to continue"

Not sure why this months-old thread had to be resurrected after all this time... but for what it's worth, something related happened just yesterday: https://github.com/MinecraftForge/FML/pull/529 Somebody made a new github account to put forth a pull request for Forge ModLoader that would...

Remember the first island you get to, the one with the life essence pool? It's covered in grass. You can bonemeal grass blocks to spawn tall grass, which you can then break for a chance of obtaining seeds. It took me a while because at first all i got were useless Witchery seeds (I chose the...

Rotarycraft Fermenter - How can I control the temperature?

Let me ask you in return, Reika: why do you have magnetostatic engines in your mod if you dislike people using them? This isn't meant to be an attack, it's an honest question because I've repeatedly seen them annoy you. There's a problem when magnetostatics are so good they render everything...

If you could add one block what would it be... Get your block idea into my mod!

How about an ore processing block that sometimes produces a muscle building advert as bonus output? It would definitely be "inspired by the FTB forums"...:p

Rotarycraft Fermenter - How can I control the temperature?

There is an upgraded industrial coil available that can in fact run a bedrock breaker. But to craft it, you need... wait for it... bedrock :P And after you have set your bevel gears to route the power upwards, you can stack normal shafts vertically. Rotate em a few times with a screwdriver if...

Rotarycraft Fermenter - How can I control the temperature?

I totally recommend an industrial coil instead of engines, since the friction heater works best when torque and speed are identical. Plus I tried to do it with a microturbine and gearboxes, and it ended up at 1345 degrees *fistshakes* :P So I just moved it to the nether together with an...

Scented Artificial Hives from Ex Nihilo: - Do they have a chance to fail even if all conditions are properly met, or does a failure always indicate I did it wrong? - If they require a "Forest" biome for a specific bee, will any Forest-like biome work, or does it have to be a vanilla Forest?

Rotarycraft Fermenter - How can I control the temperature?

The handbook and the wiki are mostly just "documentation", i.e. they describe the individual parts. But if you're dissatisfied with the wiki, did you know it is publicly editable? ;) What you're looking for is a "guide", i.e. a recommendation on how to put the parts together. The handbook...

    Favorite method of power generation?

To be honest? I probably won't make that much with it. As you may be able to derive from the thermopile experiment, I'm someone who is quite good at doing a lot of of stuff with only small power investment. Right now, I have the gas turbine that I produce RF with throttled to 1/16th output...

Graphics settings are irrelevant in 1.7.10 with that kind of video card (see link in signature). The only thing you can reduce for better performance is view distance. Set it to "9 chunks" to get the same performance as 1.6.4 had on "Far", because 1.6.4 was bugged and never actually loaded...

    Favorite method of power generation?

Let's see... In 1.2.5, I had a power station with 8 Buildcraft combustion engines feeding into a power converter to make EU out of it. For the time, that 48 MJ/t was excessive; I powered a massfab with it and outfitted myself with quantum armor, draining a couple of oil wells in the process...

11,950 RF/t, to be precise. The only way to even receive this kind of output is to point the dynamo directly at a tesseract - neither conduits nor resonant cells have enough throughput (though who knows, maybe some of the other mods capable of transferring RF have uncapped cables).
