May I ask what you googled to find out how to disable it? Because I didn't find anything other than programs that you download to fix it. But back on topic: I have so much more lag in Ultimate than I do with DW20, even with Optifine installed.

I wondering why they changed from Tekkit in the first place - maybe they got tired of it being stagnant? I also wonder if they are going to start using Voltz/Universal Electricity through the FTB launcher (aren't they the same modpack, just different names?).

First of all: it needs to be a tower. Why? Magic is always done in towers. Build it with even dimensions, your centerpiece is 2x2 blocks. Not much use to build it bigger than 12x12 radius, your "centerpiece" has a range of 24x24, with it in the center. Also, I would not recommend building it...

The problem is, the basalt I want to clear out is really flat and spread out, with holes where there's grass. Is there a way to selectively get rid of the basalt?

In the Direwolf20 pack, I'll been building my house near a RP volcano. It's one of those volcanoes where the basalt is just everywhere. I'd like to be able to clean it up a little bit and just keep the basalt next to the actual volcano. Is there a way to automatically do this?

Just curious, how did the whole permissions idea for Minecraft mods get started anyway? It seems like all mod authors do, and I respect that they may feel like that, but if I made a mod, I wouldn't care about how people used it.

Don't a lot of the mod items spawn AFTER the seed is first generated? In other words, won't people still get different maps?
