i have encountered a similar problem but i have removed the fluid ducs and that removed the lag ,i run a server and every time i place an item duct the bandwith usage jumps about 20kb's with does not sound like mutch but with 160 ducts it does add up

just brake and replace controler worked for me i needed steel for my turbine

Is this just related to your current world or can you create a new world? I have had a similar bug where my world corrupted.
