Are you sure that your turtle is crafty turtle?(made by crafting turtle with crafting table)

6 planks make 4.5k EU, and 1 sawdust can make 0.5k EU(8 sawdust + smelting = charcoal). It's 5k EU, but 80MJ required to saw log is about 0.2k EU So 0.8k more EU compared to just charcoal.

TE powered furnace is pretty nice way to make charcoal.
