I find various trees helped the most for me. But in general every different type of plant you can place is going to help.

Do the quest that gives you the claycopia.

Make sure the alchemy catalyst is under the mana pool. Also make sure the cactus has the right item id. If it has a damage value plant it on sand break it to turn it into the correct item id.

I've had no issues with piping water into the agricraft tank using BC pipes. Now I have had issues with the agicraft tank showing the correct water level in it. So perhaps that is what you are having issues with? Relogging sometimes fixes that for a few minutes.

A PSA for PurpleMentat and others who may not know this. When using the witch's cauldron you need to put items in in order. NEI lists them from left to right. That is why PurpleMentat was having such issues with making a drop of luck in his last video.

My experimentation with BC pipes losing liquids is that it is directly related to mixing liquids. If you get two liquids in the pipe at the same time you will lose a little bit of one of the liquids. It is stupid that BC lets you mix liquids in one pipe, but then BC has a number of issues...
