    Steam Boiler Help

Depends on what you need. If you want a quick source of steam power, go LP Boilers. They don't take much to bring up to fully operational status and it provides a good amount of power for the amount of work you put into creating it. If you're planning to go all-out insane and supply...

Mods That You Must Have with Your Modpack

All I need is Optifine. Okay, not really. Minecraft runs decently without it, but it gets occasionally hitchy on my old potato.

10 Steadfast Drones in One Dungeon Chest :D

From what I'm deducing, flora's referring to the 10-drones-in-a-chest. So get hunting before that gets fixed!

    Advanced Mining Drill

I actually find the Advanced Mining Drill worse than a good ol' Diamond Drill. The Diamond Drill already mines at a ridiculously fast rate. The increased mining speed is a marginal benefit offset by the doubled power consumption, and if you don't care about exploiting little bugs, would be...

    Where the slimes at?

Gotta make sure it's a vanilla swamp. ExtraBiomes has others swamps that just don't spawn any slimes, sadly. Either that, or a slime chunk at a height of 40 or lower.

    Bee Mutations

Generally best to use two pures, unless you're using two low-tier hybrids that are of the a similar type such as a Forest-Meadows with either a Meadows-Forest or Forest-Meadows. The problem with using hybrids anywhere above commonly available bees is that they can contaminate results. For...

    Trying some bees

Just have to know what combinations you need for a successful mutation, and luck. Especially luck. I can't count how many times I've tried to breed pure Commons, only for breeding to skip them and Cultivated entirely and throw me into the Noble/Diligent. It's annoying.

Forestry is making my brain hurt

The problem lies with the 'Same distance' condition. It's quite hard to have a consistently filled Carpenter, Auto Crafting Table, space for output and movement and keep the tubes equidistant. In that situation, I would rather have a sorting machine/filter system handle the dirt splitting...

Forestry is making my brain hurt

Excellent news, because yes, I am kind of a purist in a sense. I only intend to use what's available in the mod pack, so while I knew of ABO, it just didn't fit with how I wanted to play the game. I mean, the most I'd do is update LWJGL and use Optifine, but that's about it. I've had the...

Looking for building ideas for oak logs

Set up an overflow system for charcoal production to automatically go into a boiler setup that powers a scrap-free Fabricator? Dunno. I'd just build log cabins. As far as the eye can see!

Ohhhh the poor texture pack artists...

Compasses and clocks consist of two sprites consisting of a rotating texture and a static texture. It should actually make it easier to texture those two. Animated water, lava and pretty much any liquid with an animation are probably the only blocks that will need any sort of sheet, but...

Forestry is making my brain hurt

That's what I get for dismissing diamond pipes for acting like other pipes. However, my current setup already uses 8 diamond pipes to sort all output from the farms into their proper location. Depending on how I can compact my setup, it might not be feasible for a while, since I simply have a...

Ohhhh the poor texture pack artists...

Even if Mojang doesn't come through, I'm sure that the community would eventually come out with a tool to split sprite sheets. In fact, I remember seeing a program do exactly that, but those are days from long ago...

Forestry is making my brain hurt

Except the sand comes from the dirt used in making the Humus within a closed system, so it's still a loss of 2 dirt as I'll just be recycling the dirt that was turned into sand...this sentence is probably confusing, so utilizing flowchart explanation. 64 dirt reserved in crafting table, 64...

Forestry is making my brain hurt

Haven't tried it, but it would probably act as normal pipes do since there'll be two dirt outputs. Again, the system needs perfect splitting of dirt output from the peat farm to make the whole thing work. Might as well put up a flowchart to show how it works. Of course, said flowchart is...

Forestry is making my brain hurt

The bucket recipe for Bog Earth will only output 6 Bog Earth. Loss of 2 dirt per cycle. Not ideal for an automated system since it'll inevitably run dry. In other words, already tried that.

Forestry is making my brain hurt

Carpenter to create Bog Earth. Any consideration I had to make one for Humus flew out the window when it I took 3 factors into account: - Surplus of one dirt. If I had any old distribution pipe, it'd be really easy to handle, but with what's available in the DW20 pack, it'd be too much of a...

Forestry is making my brain hurt

Filter solution sounds nice on paper, but it probably wouldn't work. It still runs if the chest is empty, which can upset the balance of dirt output. But I think I have a solution to that. Only problem is that I'll need to create one of those Buildcraft assemblers to complete it.

Forestry is making my brain hurt

Got around to fiddling with RP2. The sorting machines made the system run flawlessly, but I had to build a wheat farm to supplement mulch production. As it turns out, Apples are a very unreliable source of mulch! Shame the final build is going to eat a lot of my existing resources...

Forestry is making my brain hurt

Regardless, it just does not work for this build. Any deviation could disrupt the dirt/sand balance needed to craft the bog earth back, which is why I was asking if there was a way to guarantee precision outside of using a sorting machine. The way things are going, it looks like I'm going to...
