    I use SFM. AE storage bus on a chest, SFM manager grabs it from there, auto-crafts and puts it into a ME interface.

    How well does ET deal with the occasional normal algae? With SFM I can redirect it to a separate barrel and deal with it accordingly (my photobioreactor assmbly, managed by a second SFM manager, has one dedicated to process those once the amount reaches a certain level).

    I stand corrected. Last time I checked (which was a couple of versions back) this was not true. In the current version it in fact is.

    Yes and no. Paper is special. It can give two modifiers if paper is part of the head and somewhere else (on 2nd tier tools) or if the head is paper (1st tier tools).

    I go with 16. I read or heard somewhere that this is the maximum effective amount (didn't test to verify though).

    Nice. That's really cheap and easy. My personal setup uses SFM, but I kinda went a bit too big on the "go big or go home" principle, so it causes quite some lag when it runs :p

    Yes, if you use the node as a water source over a regenerating source block. In 1.6 you don't actually need them, but it's them that speed it up to the point that makes it legendary =) In 1.7 I believe I read they are actually necessary.

    You need mining upgrades, speed upgrades only help with longer pipe networks.
