Launcher took me to the Minecraft startup screen, from which I clicked the exit button to close the application. Windows 7, 64 bit with 64 bit Java

There is no such file in the minecraft folder. Just 6 folders (bin, resources, saves, stats, texturepacks, & texturepacks-mp-cache) and a text file named options.

There is no forge mod loader log. The launcher took me straight to vanilla minecraft. No mods were loaded, including forge.
