Actually, I used to use this setup on the earliest version of Mindcrack, maybe even on the Beta pack. Probably something changed by then, but now steam made BC engine pretty obsolete.

Well, talking about space efficiency in a potentially unlimited world is a bit pointless. To me the matter is more aesthetic: they just look awful to me but hey, who am I to judge the work of a guy who made one of the most awesome mod ever developed?

I think the difficulty affects the chances of losing princesses and drones, the probability of getting hybrids and the amount of loots for lifespan. Not sure, but that's my guess based on playing on easy with the FTB Beta pack and on Insane on Mindcrack. By the way, insane is just... Well...

Same here. Not a huge FPS boost (around 50%-75%) but no black screen or problems of any kind.

Frames doors/platform are really easy to make! Just two frame motors, two state cell, two not gate and two timers (or one cell, one gate and one timer if you never want it to stay open). Piston doors are just faster and easier to fully hide, but hey, frames are cool [cit.]
