Because updating a mod should not be a fix for a modpack that is made live, there must be a more useable fix

Updating ic2 is not an option this is a public server and needs to be able to be used as a plug and play out of the box situation

Tekkit is a year older then FTB as is its version of Minecraft it uses, there have been a bucket load of updates to the mods, forge and minecaft it self, so compareing the 2 is like apples and oranges, to put it simple the amount of mods and what they do heavy affect tick rate as their all...
