Ok, thanks for your quick reply. I don't know what happened but I just reinstalled everything on my client from scratch and now I was able to copy the client config and connect to the server.

where should I be looking for the client config file? I am looking on my client machine but in the Direwolf20_17/minecraft folder the only things I have are: logs, resourcepacks, and saves.

Nvm, I finally found it. The schematics folder should be in config/worldedit/schematics. I had to create it myself. The properties file can be altered to change the location of the schematics folder.
