Thanks for the hint, the issue was tho that the quarry was located in the twilight forest (and i have yet to figgure out how to change dimension in mcedit) I know it is in beta, and i know the risk, but if possible i am going to work around it. For now i got it fixed by deleting the twilight...

There is a current issue with NEI that if you double click the search field once (making it search your inventory aswell) the whole search system stops working. you have to reboot your minecraft to make it work again.
