I don't think you understand what he's trying to do. He's offering the players of already-existing 1.4.7 Ultimate worlds a chance to upgrade to 1.6... That is why the mods are almost identical to the Ultimate pack.. Removing GT from it would -completely- defeat the purpose.

To be completely honest, that's what FTB always says. "Update X is going to be hard for modders", yet mods release in record time and FTB lags behind. It's not really that mods don't update, it's that FTB is afraid of change and will lag behind because of 1 or 2 mods that are not even necessary...
