Mystcraft can indeed corrupt worlds and cause a lot of lag. But my idea is not to enable it for everyone. The mod is perfectly fine when under admin control, so only an admin can create worlds as needed. So my suggestion is to create a separate world for mining, just 1. This world can be removed...

This sounds like a server for me :) I'm 28, from Belgium, and work as a Software Engineer (C++ programmer). I was thinking about running the same kind of server, 18-20+, 5-10 slots depending on activity indeed. I got into minecraft thanks to a friend who made me watch Yogscast (Sips and Sjin)...

I was thinking about looking for an area away from spawn (yesterday everyone was building too close with any trees around). I have the idea to connect it to spawn with a (underground) railway once everything is running. That will require a lot of resources but it's a project :D What do you think...

its the auth servers I read somewhere its also with other servers so I'll go watch some yogscast until I can connect :)
