Too Much Ore...

Hey guys,

I'm at the point in the game where I have lots of power and lots of stuff. Basically, I use Big Reactors for some of my power. To get the yellorium, I use a mining system similar to Direwolf20's uberminer. My problem is I want to keep my uberminer running 24/7. Power is not an issue. My ME system cannot cope with the ores. I had to turn it off once my copper and tin went over 100K. Basically, I want to know what I can use all these ingots on. I know I could just condense them when they go past a certain amount, but I am kinda looking for a more creative idea.

If you've got MFR, you can use Deep Storage Units, which can store about 2 billion items of the same type apiece. So you can just designate one for copper, tin, etc, slap an ME storage bus on each, not worry about running out of space.

Or, you could build some complicated contraption to use the resources that your uberminer pulls up from the ground to automatically expand your uberminer... but that might just make your problem worse in the long run.

If you've got ridiculous amounts of iron, you could give RotaryCraft and Reactorcraft a shot. Also, the Auroral battery from Electricraft is very expensive, from what I've heard, but gives you a huge amount of energy storage capacity in return.
 
If you've got the Chisel mod, there are lots of cool variations on metal blocks available. I too agree that you should make your base more metal.
 
Have you ever played fallout? You could build a vault! the last time I did a build like that I couldn't keep up with the stuff that I needed, but in the end it was so over the top I loved it so much! :D
 
There is no such thing as too much ore, even if I had 100k ore of everything I could easily find a way to deplete it fairly quickly using Applied Energistics and the molecular assembly chamber making a big project.

100K mighn't seem like much, but at the rate that I gain ingots it increases pretty fast.[DOUBLEPOST=1408226032][/DOUBLEPOST]Perhaps it is time to build B0bCorp tower. Thanks for all of your ideas!

What type of mining machine do you use????? Getting that much that quickly! And you could fill all the area where your cables run with blocks of metal

Well that's exactly what he seems to want to do... make a big project... and he's asking you for ideas. Specific ideas.

I also have 100K+ of each of the metals just sitting unused in my ME system... so what do I know about building stuff? Nothing. That's my excuse for not offering any ideas of my own - I obviously don't have any either, just like OP. :)

For people wondering how you get so much... bees. The answer is always - bees!

Yeah bees are good and all but there is something magical about watching 6 quarrys running at full power in the deep dark all at the same time. :P
