So yeah figured I'd start a thread after the need to move one showing progress on the new base. Why? well I'm a silly shoop we do silly things.

Not much so far I've been playing to much dark souls. But I got some smooth sand stone made that I'll be using for a large part of the build. And I made 28 elevators (two pairs of 7x2 for up and down) to get up and down from the soon to be new base.... Ran into my first issue.

Lucky that was easy to fix as it was just a server setting. But good to know once you travel about 20 blocks it seems to think your flying.

So yeah... 80 by 80 the outer ring took like 4 stacks to make so good thing I stocked up but looks like I'm going to either stock up on sand from HQ or bring a cobble stone machine and some pulverizers over earlier then planed. just to keep up with the sand stone needs. Good thing you can make sandstone and smooth sand stone by hand even with Greg set to screw you hard.

If you have mystcraft it would look pretty cool in a void age in "space". Bloody hard to make though....

<3 building in the sky and <3 building round structures. You sir are awesome.

I question your choice of sandstone as a building material though. Tin and copper are renewable, and that thing could very easily be a frame machine :3

EDIT: would need 24 frame motors on wireless redstone tho... 12 for the 6 axis mothership and 12 for the 6 axis levitation pad. You could use 14 wireless recievers, 2 of each frequency to move the entire thing in tandem and 2 extra on a separate freq to raise/lower the levitation pad independently of the ship :)

I don't have mystcraft I've noted a few times I'm running mindcrack pack right out the box with nothing extra.

But I do plan on one day invading the end and doing something like that.

Well I suck a frames.... And really moving a 80x80 object would run into other issues since this is going to be my base it will have all sorts of things that will not play well with a moving frame.[DOUBLEPOST=1358762384][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh god... and it starts.

Yeah this is going to be the first of many I can tell.

Yeah many.... I think I might need a jet pack or something. I wish I had not lost my long fall boots.

it might save time (if you have an energy cube handy) to set up a buildcraft filler to make a square inside your structure.

or just use the filler on the entire thing and cut out the round bits again with a mining laser... hmm...

Doing good saice, I'm with Vovk about using bronze blocks instead though :p.

Hook up a few centrifuges, magma cruicibles and igneous etruders up in your base, chunkload it, pump the blocks into an enderchest...

Then again, bronze is kinda too red. Copper is weird as well, gold might be best.... Hmm.. You could centrifuge the electrum for gold.... Damn, now I wish there was an electrum block :D.

I was thinking since I have thuam I might make a butt load of gold covers and lapus covers to get the gold/blue look of the protos. Which would also blend in well with using sandstone inside the base.

More than likely a lot more. With default settings, one frame motor can only move 1000 blocks at once. You'd have to split the ship in multiple parts and have a set of motors for each one.

Make a landing pad on the top and create a detachable escape pod on the top! Use it for mining excursions or something like that.

I have a similar thing. Since my base is a sky base, I have a small room in the center that'll will go up and down using an inchworm drive. I call it... THE ORBITAL DROP POD. It is has a battery box, that is connect when the ORBITAL DROP POD is in the SKY BASE ORBITAL DROP POD DOCKING STATION. The wire disconnects from the ORBITAL DROP POD when it ORBITALLY DROPS TO THE GROUND. Then I have power for the journey back up.

There is an electrum block, courtesy of GregTech. It's almost the right color for a Protoss ship, too.

Crap, wasn't on the list when I was checkin it out at work <_<

But that's just sweet. I think It's about time to get my rear in gear and either set up a secondary blaze reactor, or a few nice treefarms.

And three more 36HP's.

Oh wow, I just realized, I can keep my lava tank 80% full by placing the walve high up, this way all the overflow can go into centrifuges.

Cue diabolical laughter.
