Hey Guys,

How do you write a stable age on the new DW20 Modpack?

Playing Direwolf20 1.5
On the previous Version on Minecraft 1.4.6 you could build a stable Age by combining the following Pages:
Single Biome, Plains Biome, Normal Stars, Normal Moon, Normal Sun, Standard Terrain, Normal Weather, a couple random "Features" (i.e. Caves, Villages, etc), and finish with a Clear Modifiers

Now with the new Modpack on Minecraft 1.5.2 this combination always gives me instable ages, with random biomes (mostly with twilight or nether mobs etc)
Has the "required" build for a stable age changed? Or am I simply missing something?

Need to put the plains biome before the single biome page. This is the main problem that i see. Might want to put in something like stone and water block pages before the standard terrain page or it might pick something you don't want. Also, put in some kind of lighting page or it will certainly pick that for you.

Apparently there are three classes of Features. And the game wants three of each of them, filling in any unchosen ones at random.

This can be a problem if the game picks tendrils, then chooses diamond ore for the type.

And as mentioned above you need to put the Biome types before the Biome Controller, with the correct number if you choose Single or Tiled. Biome types are now modifiers for the controller.

@isnow:
Basically I want a stable age.
I want a mining age, preferably a single biome extreme hills with no weather and eternal day.
And One Lave World, with no weather and eternal day...
really having trouble with this oddly enough

Yeah... I don't think the mod was designed to let you do that. Adding things like dense ore, no weather and eternal day GUARANTEE corruption unless you level it out with some negative modifiers like meteor or scorched. Mystcraft have joined in the balance bandwagon to make their mods seem less cheaty (If I was an admin of a server I would not have a dense ore world without meteor AND spontaneous explosions or scorched one or the other). But that's irrelevant to the topic at hand.

Isn't there an option in the config to turn corruption off regardless of combination?

@Azzanine: No weather or eternal day doesn't cause instability as far as I know, only dense ores.

There is an element of randomness in newer versions of Mystcraft which didn't exist previously, but making a couple of ages using the same (valid) sequence of symbols should get you a decent age eventually.

Ok, thank you all for your help, it seems Zarkov hit it on the "money"
I guess there's a bit of randomness added to worldgen in Mystcraft, and i just created the age again, and this time it worked exactly how I wanted.
MY Digger Age: Extreme Hills - Single Biome - Eternal Day - No Weather with a couple Features ingame like Villages etc. Stable, and what I wanted... it threw in a yellow sky and clouds which I never happened on the old version, but thats fine with me.
SIngle Lava Biome same, but with a normal sky.
If anybody wants to know the exact Setup just let me know, and I'll write down the pages I used.

I know its not stable, but got my first pages from a villager: Crystals (the ones for making portals); and Tendrils. So I made an age just with those two symbols, and it also gave me Nether quartz formations (little nodules that stick out of the ground). There are libraries as well, so can't complain about the age. Tho I do get awfully hungry when in that dimension (hunger instability). Stable ages will come when I get a few more pages. Crystals. Crystals as far as the eye can see!

The portals you can build with those are pretty handy.

Do you still get world-crashing bugs if items fall into them?

Why the multiple copies of colour pages? Does it add random ones in if there are fewer than three modifiers for each "... Colour" page?

The color system is weighted and picking more color pages gives you a better chance to get the correct color.
