Max RAM stuck at 494 MB

I have an issue where no matter what amount of RAM I allocate, when I launch the game, the F3 screen shows around 470MB / 494MB (95-100% used), even though I have the RAM maximum set higher than that in the launcher. The max is always 494 MB. I am running windows 7, nvidia GeForce GTX 680, 16 gb ram. FTB worked great until a few weeks ago, and unfortunately I have no idea what changed to break it. I have 64 bit java, and have tried upgrading/downgrading graphics drivers. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I have the same problem could anyone please help, I have tried re-installing FTB and Java but still have the same problem.

Change the RAM allocation amount in the options tab of the launcher. Provide screen shots if you have, but this hasn't worked.

First, you should really read the Java Arguments Thread. Use those arguments. Then, make sure you have a 64 bit system with 64 bit Java. Also, don't trust the F3 screen completely. It doesn't always show the true memory allocation. F3 shows heap memory, garbage collector memory allocation, etc. It's normal to have a 500mb garbage collector memory allocation.​
