Unix Linux Problems With Java Or Launcher

I use linux, and the oracle JRE usually works. However, i went to the terminal today and typed:

java FTBLauncher.jar

and it gave me an error: Error: Could not find or load main class FTBLauncher.jar
I went to the OpenJDK 6, tried

sh FTBLauncher

and it gave me the same error. I re-installed FTB, got rid of the /Mindcrack and /Unleashed directories, and tried just about everything.... What is wrong with Java? Or FTB launcher (havent tried it on other .jars) or am I just being stupid?

You should be using java 7, not java 6

Tried that, with openJDK 7. My computer just stops :/
