Windows .exe Launcher does not open

Launcher version: 1.0.4
Java version: 1.7
Minecraft version: 1.4.2

When my friend tries to open either the exe or jar launcher she only gets the console not the actual launcher.

When I compare it to my log it looks like the error happends when the options loads the languages.
Does anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it?

Open up the launcher, select your profile and click edit, then click remove, close the launcher and re-open it, re-creating your profile as necessary. This is what got mine operational again, my username was under the profile was a bunch of mixed up characters.

EDIT: Rather, try deleting the profile file if the launcher does actually not even appear.

Is there anything else then the FTB_Launcher.exe file in the folder at all?
Could you try uninstalling and then reinstalling java?

I found away to do that download the jar file open with java and it will work

This issue is 100% replicable on Mac and Windows for new installations. There seems to be an issue with the FTB download servers. See http://support.feed-the-beast.com/ for a loooooooong list of tickets for people having this same issue.

This has been fixed, if you are still unable to start the launcher just download it from the main page.
