Help with making mod...

Hi, and i am a complete and utter NOOB when it comes to mods, this is my first one, using MCreator, which requires no coding, but it has taken me at least 3 days to complete this, i am making a bedrock tools mod, with armor, pickaxe, axe, shovel, and i'm not using bedrock as the actual material for recipes, because its something else, because it is a pain in the arse to actually get it to co-operate and let me use it in crafting recipes, GIVING a recipe to bedrock is easy, using it is hard, so i'm using a bedrock gem, there's an incomplete, and a complete one, the complete one is red (don't ask why it's red) and im using the complete gem to make the tools and armor, but it wont let me, it only lets me use the incomplete one in the recipes, know how to fix this? just in advanced, I have made a .png for the gems. Also i know there is so many bedrock mods out there, but this one is different, trust me.

Advice: Don't use MCreator. As much as it seems like a tool that is helpful to people without much technical knowledge, it's also something that will severely limit your freedom the moment you want to do something truly interesting. You won't get any help from experienced modders here or anywhere else if you decide to use it. The control afforded by actually coding your mod is incredible; the lack of control with MCreator isn't immediately apparent, but it's there. If you already know a bit of java, I suggest this tutorial set by Pahimar, author of Equivalent Exchange 3. Sorry for telling you to abandon your current method right away, and I hope I don't sound too mean, but there are other people who would be very derisive in responding to this; I'm trying to be helpful.
It is good, however, that you are interested in modding, and if you can get over the wall of learning to actually code your mod, you'll have a great deal of potential.

I knew from the start that i would be limited with what i could do, but im just a kid with no knowledge about java whatsoever, you dont sound mean at all, but the only problem is, of course, i have no knowledge, anything that could teach me to code java?

Hmm... I don't remember any specific tutorials; just google "Java tutorial." The internet is full of information. Maybe someone else on the forums knows of a specific tutorial.

sry for the late reply, i have been traveling and had no internet and my phone is no help its so slow without a full on internet connection
