3k/3k Thaumcraft Node Completely Gone?

Pictures are useless in this situation, if you're wondering.
I had a huge 3,000/3,000 TC3 aura node encased in a fancy emerald and warded glass temple. I went in there today to check how it was holding up (just to see if adding another tool with repair 2 on it has drained it, which I highly doubt that it did) and it wasn't even there.
The aura meter in the bottom left didn't even tell me it was there, it just showed a tiny 469/469 aura node with no flux.
Can aura nodes completely self-destruct from flux? I was making tons of nitor, and I was dumping alot of the essences into the enviroment.
My arcane bore, my infernal furnaces, everything is completely dead from the lack of aura.
What could be the cause of this?
I really don't want to farm back those silverwood tree saplings, either.

I've never actually heard of a 3K aura node before, so this is a new one on me. That must have taken some cultivating! The largest natural node I've encountered still had less than 900 aura.

It's possible that you've run into a feature of Thaumcraft we weren't aware of until now. Maybe artifically large nodes are prone to splitting?

I doubt it. The 469/469 aura node has always been next to my house, in the forest.
Also, the flux was brought to dangerous levels in the first few silverwood saplings. I wouldn't advise getting a huge aura node, because you'll be owned by a trillion wisps.
I'm assuming it got corrupted somehow when I got a new goggles of revealing (after I fell off my own house and then died of fall damage, and couldn't find my items). It might also be that Azanor put in some code that makes it so that, after enough flux, the aura node will self-destruct.
All the aura nodes around my house seem to be COMPLETELY flushed out of flux though. All of them are at Minimium.
Also, as far as I can tell, 3k seems to be the max. I went to 3k and stopped, and because of it stopping at such a fixed number, I'm assuming that's the max. It also 'might' be because I ran out of silverwood saplings *cough*.
Hoe of growth with repair, axe of the stream, silverwood saplings, very easy 3k/3k pure aura node, if you're wondering how to get it quickly. The entire world will be drained completely and the node will serve as a little stopping point for aura to land at, for a short time. Eventually everything is drained and they will all start regenerating their aura, and then you have infinite flux!

Anyways, I'm probably screwed with my 53/53 aura nodes. Living in a wasteland is not advisable for magic.
Relying on a huge unstable pure 3k aura node with tons of flux is also not advisable.
