    Low resource modpack?

I would use FTB lite as starting framework and then add/remove mods you like/don't like and limit the amount of mods. Maybe < 15. Also, some mods are heavy CPU or FPS graves. Especially those where items or microblocks are moving or those who have many block updates and visible effects. e.g. AE...

So how much hotbar space do you have spare?

The mouse wheel only. But I'm used to this order. And I even can scroll forward AND backward. I'm a total pro at this. *irony off* So slot 2 and 8 are not that far away. ;)

So how much hotbar space do you have spare?

My tools are on slot 1-4 since I started to play minecraft. And also my torches are on slot 8 and food on slot 9 since the very beginning. And they will always be exactly there for no important reason. :p

    Redstone Flux?

It's OK. But my point was not so much that I want realistic electricity. The point was that the EU system is not realistic even though beeing comparatively complicated. Without going into details here: If it was realistic or at least had a consistent logic to it, I personally would like it more...

    Redstone Flux?

It has a good API for modders in contrast to the MJ. (don't know it myself. But head this argument many times) And I think the community likes it because it's easy to understand and use. The EU system is bloated and still unrealistic in it's mechanic with the different "voltage levels". The...

So how much hotbar space do you have spare?

Without MPS Power Fist (Early- /Mid- Game) 1. Sword (TiCo) 2. Pickaxe (TiCo) 3. Shovel or Axe (TiCo) (switching them by requirement) 4. 5. IC2 Minig Laser if available 6. Miners Backpack 7. Flux capacitor (for fluxed TiCo pickaxe) 8. Torches 9. Food With MPS: 1. MPS Power Fist 2. 3. 4. 5...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Applied Energistics 2: Is it really more economic to use P2P-Tunnels or DenseCable for channel distribution? In the tutorials I saw everyone says "DenseCable is expensiv. You don't want that running through your whole base. Use P2P tunnels instead.". But when I look at the recipe I see that...

    The death of the MJ

What would you do with buildcraft anyway? Asides from the quarry I rarely used buildcraft for anything. It has no ore proccessing, no power storage (well, that's intended behaviour for BC, I know) and too many different pipes which lack throughput compared to RF driven systems. Pipes like the...

Is it better to play SSP on a server?

Do you have problems with FPS or expieriencing tick lag? You did not say you do. Of not, you do not need a dedicated server. If yes, then obviously a server would be good, because your laptop needs to calculate your client and all that server stuff otherwise. BTW: If you have FTB running at 150...

Tinker's Construct Question: Flux vs Mossy

    Yes. I meant a flux capacitor. ^^

Tinker's Construct Question: Flux vs Mossy

Auto-Repair (Mossy) is slow. And even slower when not in sunlight. So I use mossy on my sword, shovel and axe as these are tools I only use for a short period each time and then they have a long wait in between uses. So they have time to auto-repair. But the the pickaxe is usually heavily used...

Nope. Sadly, juice is not a valid fluid for reactant dynamos. I've a farm running which has an excess production of juice. So I would like to make good use of it. Guess I will build some more juice-driven fermenters then...

What's agood use for fruit juice, asides from feeding fermenters with it? Is it a good source of energy? I only know you can use it in a biogas engine. But the power output is negligible.

Is the FTB server multi threaded or single threaded

You also have to consider what mods do. Not only the vanialla FTB server. Some mods create their own threads to do things asynchronously from the servers main thread. However. If all threads suffer a 33% malus if the CPU runs in 8-thread-mode, I would try 4-thread-mode first. because the main...

The SAG Mill does not work either. And you can't smelt it. Sorry, no RotaryCraft. It's a modified Direwolf pack. Autonomous Activator would work. But I hoped for a more direct way. Anyway, thanks.

    EDITED: Help with server specs

vServers are not really a good solution for minecraft. If you have dedicated cores of the host system reserved for you, then a small- to mid-sized server might run well. But if you only have reserved 2 or 4 logical threads, then you are basicly screwed. Because other people are sharing those...

Does Size Matter? ME Drives which do you prefer?

I use 4k drives for mixed items and 16k / 64k for bulk items (> 5000). Later in the game I use DSUs for dirt, cobblestone, wood, gravel and sand. I love those blinking lights in my server room...
