I thought for a moment I spawned a mystrcraft ore age. I made a normal map with default settings, dove into the first ravine i could find. Managed to find a group of ravines connected by caves, and they are quite generous with ores you can see right on the walls. Then I started some y-12 branch mining and wow. just. wow. I have a steel crusher from metallurgy with some hoppers to automate crushing batches of stuff I find and its been running nonstop with all the ore i bring in. Im also getting quite a large amount of reactorcraft crystals, ars magica topaz and chimera crystals, thaumcraft shards, already compressing redstone and coal into storage blocks, 8 stacks of diamonds, lord knows how much iron, lead and silver, and even did some nether runs and brought back lots of strange metals (sanguinite pick rocks!). almost done getting all the spells for arcane scrolls (with a chest full of arcane gems) and the exp i get is from mining alone! 12 extreme essence for magic crops (you need a lot of weak essence to make those). every time i start a new mining tunnel, i get maybe 60 blocks out and i have to run back to unload, and not with cobble..i normally toss it to make room for the other stuff 
this is just from a few hours of playing this map...if i had IC2 id already have a nuke reactor going never mind all the other random stuff like potash, salt, saltpeter, sulfur, potassium, magnesium...what the hell is all this
