I have been using FTB and have been enjoying Unleashed for 1.5.2. Recently I see that the 1.6.4 modpacks are slowly coming out and I have been excited to play both Horizons and Direwolf20. However, for some reason, and this is only since I have started using the 1.6.4 modpacks, I crash all the time. Sometimes I cannot even load the modpack and it crashed to the desktop, more often, I am able to load the modpack and start playing, however, within 5 -10 minutes, the modpack/game crashes to desktop and I need to restart the launcher. Maybe I should not use Biomes O' Plenty when I set up my new world? Maybe I should not set the cheat mode? Maybe not use a seed?

I am confused. I love the new modpacks but if all I can get is 5-10 minutes before I crash, I will have t go back to the 1.5.2 packs...at least they were stable.

Is anyone else having these issues? Can anyone give me some suggestions?

I am able to load Minecraft 1.7.4 alone and play with no problems. It appears to be something between the new 1.6.4 packs and my computer. Any help/thoughts ar greatly appreciated.

try putting this in your terminal if you have a mac
cd ~/Desktop/ftb/
export JAVA_HOME=/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6/Home
java -jar FTB_launcher.jar

You have 5 different versions of java installed, never a good thing. The launcher is at least picking a 64-bit version but is using 1.7.0_0. It is recommended to use 1.7.0_45. At the very least get rid of the 1.6 version, it was around that time that java would not uninstall completely.
