Where did my gold go in smeltery?

I've placed gold ore dust in smeltery and it was smelted but I can't find it anywhere in the smeltery... It was just 1 gold ore dust so maybe its too small to be seen or maybe it merged with some other liquid... is it even possible? I feel like it has merged with something into electrum...

EDIT: I have figured that it turns into electurm but is there any way of preventing that without having to pour all the electrum out?

If you build a second smeltery, you can separate fluids so they don't mix like that. They'll actually share both a wall and a fuel tank, so you can have two of them side by side, and only have to feed one lava tank. But then you can run tin, iron and gold in one smeltery, and copper, ferrous and silver in the other to prevent mixing.
