So wondering what everyone uses to play FTB (there might be a thread like this but I didn't see it)

I use a Surface Pro and I connect a wireless Xbox controller to play, makes crafting a little harder but moving/fighting second nature.

Surface Pro is a pretty powerful machine I can get 70-80 fps on normal settings but too many steam boilers about and I have to drop to tiny distance just so I can move ;)

But I love it either way

How about you guys o_O and don't just say custom built without saying what's inside :D

Oh nice, and what sort of fps do you get out of it?

depends if I play vanilla or not. if I leave everything at standard, I can get a good 120-180FPS I think
but I always play with limited settings, with optifine I always set my FPS to 40. I started using 40FPS a few years back and never changed it, so I got really used to it

Awesome sounds good, I don't play Vanilla so I couldn't compare (don't even have it installed )

I use my custom build, it handles FTB easily.
Strange to see someone using a remote for FTB, never heard of that before.

In my case, I used a modded Dell Dimension 9150 (DXP051), with an extra 3GB of RAM, and a nVidia GT 610 GPU installed instead of the Radeon X600. Running 64-bit Linux, OpenSUSE. :3 No optifine, but runs alright, actually.

Nice to see someone using a surface! and never seen someone using a controller before.
I wonder whether the surface pro 2 will improve a lot on the fps you get compared to the surface pro. Its bound to be better because of haswells GT graphics, but I'm wondering what the impact will be exactly.

I'm playing on a PC mostly, or a laptop when I'm on the move, or over at a friends place.
Specs for the PC are:

AMD FX-8120 OCed to 4600MHz
Corsair H100i
Corsair Carbide 500R
16GB of samsung DDR3 mem at 1990MHz with 9-10-10-29 timings
Asus Sabertooth 990FX
AMD HD Radeon 7950 at 1160MHz mem at 6200MHz
Samsung 830 120GB SSD
3x seagate 2,5inch 7200RPM 320GB hdds in a storage spaces striped raid (scavenged from old laptops :D)
Corsair AX860i
Samsung S23A750D (120Hz 3D monitor) + various other monitors

Laptop main specs are:
i5 460M
8GB 1333MHz RAM
AMD 5650 at 700Mhz mem at 920MHz
Seagate Slim SSHD 500GB
1080p 15,6inch screen

Laptop is a bit too slow for my taste, as I need to dial down the graphics options a bit at times. However, all is relative i suppose :D
I never use anything other than a keyboard and mouse for controllers
