If I was to start playing the modpack now, would I be able to transfer that world and work over to the modpack when it officially releases? Obviously more mods will be added and changed, so will that permanently damage the world I would start now? Thanks!

Some mods will need more world Gen. Like Redpower will require more world gen so its up to you.

You can always make a new mystcraft age

New world gen rules will also take effect when you load new chunks in the existing world. I Tested it with a vanilla world of mine.

Don't forget mystcraft if you don't feel like trekking a few klicks to generate new terrain. If you use a mining world, then you could just replace it when you need more worldgen. Alternatively, you could make a mining world specifically for the new ores.

As long as all the mod IDs stay the same now.

Logged into an old world of mine to see leaves were turned into wooden stairs xD
