Unleashed Optimization?

Yesterday, me and my friend were going to play unleashed but i was getting this weird frame lag. We spent an hour troubleshooting and found that the server was taking 50% of my CPU and that didn't leave much for my client. I have a high end i5 with a evga gtx 760 FTW Edition. I have run multiple servers at once and never once had any sort of frame lag. I though, no problem, I'll just use my 2010 iMac. It took me a little while to figure out how to turn on the server. Once I did though, when I or my friend connected, the server stopped as if the command stop was used. No crash report or anything was saved because it counted as the server turning off i guess. Is there any way I can optimize the server, I can install BukkitForge if needed. I don't know if this is in the right place in the forums but this seemed like the most likely place it would go.

Try Tick Threading, short of actually ripping out mods until you find the laggy one, its the best solution.
