The old thread has again become large and unwieldy. So here's a new thread.

Rules:

1. Post the mod name and a link to the mod.

2. Post why it might be a good fit.

3. DO NOT DISCUSS MODS - this is a place to make suggestions not discuss pros and cons arguing and spatting over mod suggestions will result in a time out.

4. DO NOT SUGGEST CREATING NEW MODS -- this is not the place to ask for a new mod to be created.

5. Do not Suggest Mods for Unhinged or any of the Third Party packs. At this time all suggestions are for Unleashed.

Mods that will NEVER be accepted. Do not even bother suggesting them

Mods with the best chance of success will fit the following guidelines:

1. Unique - something not available in mods currently in a pack
2. Resource friendly -- low cpu/ram use compared to whats added. Mods that eat server resources will have a hard time getting in.
3. Somewhat balanced: Dirt to diamonds will not be joining FTB. ;)
4. Updated regularly: mods that update only once in a blue moon with uncommunicative authors are unlikely to make it in.
5. SMP compatible: and yes there are still mods that don't work in SMP.


If a mod is incredibly cheaty, unfinished or just add more "collectables" it will not have a good chance of getting in.

Both worldgen mods, just to add even more flavor outside of biomes. Just added both to the DW20 pack (using BoP instead of EXBL) with no real issues (just ID conflicts on WildCaves 3).
Ruins doesn't add items to the game, just structures to world gen, many are traps. Some (only in my opinion) need to be disabled and spawn rates decreased, but it makes things much more interesting. Highly configurable to what spawns in what biomes.
WildCaves just makes the underground look more interesting. Adds a few new things, even found some of it's generation in the Ruins generation.

New worlds, Gravity, rockets and space travel. Tekkit has just got this mod and it's popular enough to draw FTB's players back to Tekkit. We need it too... and it's awesome.
Sure, it's a Work-in-Progress mod, but there's enough there to add to the pack. Unlike EE3, which is both cheaty and WIP. (Seriously, this will NEVER be finished enough to be called a Mod. It's been out for months and nothing has been added since the prerelease.)

Advanced Power Management (IC2-Addon)

The Adjustable Transformers and Energy Storage Monitors are a godsend, and would be ideal for efficient and compact set-ups. There are no other comparable blocks in the current Ultimate packs.

It was listed on the orignal ftb beta excel spreadsheet, but then did not feature in the Ultimate pack as expected. It's an add-on with few blocks, that has been updated to 1.5 too. Including an updated version in 1.6 would be incredible, and would not be detrimental to the overall pack.

I have 2 mods to suggest.
The first is More Furnaces +. It adds 5 furnaces. Iron, Gold, Diamond, Obsidian and Nether. The iron has 2 input and 2 output spots, along with 2 fuel slots. Gold is double the slots that iron has. and Diamond, the highest tier, has 8 output, 10 input and 4 fuel. Obsidian has 4 input and 4 output, but 2 fuel slots, AND it can cook two different items at once. Nether Furnace is a regular furnace, except you light the top on fire, and it takes 1 and 1/2 minute to smelt one item.

The second is a microblocks mod. It works exactly like RP2's microblocks, AND is 1.5.2. (There's also a Core mod you need to use it, butit's made by the same person.)

Might I suggest having a do not reply to posts rule. And all approval for an individual mod be displayed via likes. Any by extension you would only be allowed to suggest one mod per post and have to wait until another posts to suggest agane. This would remove most of the problems with the previous post. though you will have to start discussion threads for any mods you are considering for inclusion in any FTB pack. We would really like more impute into what is included in any given pack beyond just making suggestions. Ones we cant' even tell are being read.

Firstly, we're fine with the thread being set up the way it is. Secondly, what mods go into any particular pack is not a democratic process. Your suggestions are being read, and while we do want to hear what folks in general want to see in the packs, it's not as if this is a process that needs to be codified for fair elections. If we see overwhelming interest in a mod, we'll probably throw it in - all other things equal. But at the end of the day, FTB makes the packs the way we do for certain reasons, and those reasons are not always public, and never up for debate.

Double Door Mod

Ever get stuck on the wall or door while trying to run from a creeper? This mod is very simple and adds only a couple of features but allows you to open 2 adjacent doors with 1 button or pressure plate. Works well with FTB Ultimate and Mindcrack.

downside: I did not manage to add the biomes from the extrabiome mod, it is possible, but lots of work, unless you find a config somewhere that adds them...but its still totally worth it, only the 256 high world alone is worth it...digging 128 blocks down from sealevel is a long way down :)
