Steve's carts help

I am looking to build a rail from my base on a server 2 the spawn (it private so theres no griefing) I am wondering does having multiple engine's on a steve's carts cart make it faster and if not which engine is the fastest? (excluding creative engine).

Having multiple engines on a cart will allow it to use different sources of fuel; you can set the priorities of each engine so that, for instance, the cart only uses its coal engine if it doesn't have enough power from its solar engine. I don't think you can use multiple engines of the same type on a cart, but if it is possible, you could, for example, use different varieties of coal in them so that your cart has "reserve power" if it runs out of fuel.

Yes. The way you power them differs, not their output.
