Saw Mill equivalent in 1.6.x?

I don't have access to Thermal Expansion in 1.6.x at this point, and do not have Binnie's Mods installed. So at present I have no way to 'process' my wood in order to increase my yield. Outside of GregTech, are there any other mods that add a block or tool which increases wood yield beyond the ordinary 4 planks per log?

As of 1.5 the Sawmill only gives 4 planks and 1 sawdust sadly, The Lumbermill is your only option.

1.6.4 Dartcraft - tool with grinding enchant should give you 6 planks. Haven't tried it myself but its listed in NEI.

That is actually a bug. I don't know if it will get fixed before TE3 in 1.6 though.

It will not. 1.5.x will not receive any TE updates anymore. However, considering that the bug has been known for like half a year now, I doubt they would fail to fix it in TE3. It's a simple recipe registration issue.

You could also put a Grinding Upgrade Core in a Force Furnace, if you want an automatable version.
