I have a blaze soul shard spawner and I have MFR grinders killing them. I have EU transfer pipe coming off the back of the grinders leading into a chest VIA a retrieval node on the chest. The problem is, is that the retrieval node isn't pulling out the blaze rods from the grinders. At the bottom right of the second picture you can make out a retrieval node on a testing chest. I also think it is worth mentioning that I think the problem is either that the energy node coming off of the tesseract is somehow interfering with the process, or the MFR grinders are somewhat bugged, because they aren't producing mob essence either. (Before someone says "Make sure you have the correct nodes for each material, liquids and items!", I already did :)) I probably just made a silly mistake somewhere in the making of this. :)

Firstly you need ONE grinder per 5x5 area, faster you chuck mobs in there the faster it'll kill them. Secondly you can't "pull" from a grinder, it auto outputs. If you try and suck items it won't work.

So, could I haves chests in back of all of the grinders, and have those feeding into the ender chest? Also, how would I do the mob essence? Could I just use ender io fluid conduits, or would EU work?

Items out back, mob essence any side, both auto outputted so don't try extract from them with anything, test different options cos I've no idea version, modpack etc so you'll have to work it out.

Ok. Now that I think about it, auto outputting into openblocks tanks wouldn't look too bad aesthetically. I then will out put to some drums.
The pack I am playing by the way is hermitcraft modsauce 1.7.10 :)

With the MFR machines, I'd always recommend a chest behind the machine for items. Had problems in the past with weird things happening with direct connections for output materials.

You actually can just whack a pipe on to the output, but as mentioned don't make the pipe extract as it doesn't work. MFR machines seem to work differently to other tech mods where something is made then stored in an internal inventory they just spit it out in to the world or a compatible pipe.
I think this is a case of the retrieval node just not working with MFR. As the retrieval node looks for an inventory with items then retrieves them, as the grinder has no such inventory it can't retrieve anything.
I recon your setup would work if you used regular transfer nodes to the chest as transfer nodes have an inventory for the MFR machines to spit in to.

I actually decided to use chests alternating with iron chests and having a retrieval node pulling from all of those. It may have been too much work but, whatever ;) it works
