Re: Space Astronomy Pack issues

I am having a performance issue I am trying to pin down with this pack. Whenever I move around the map, my system bogs down badly, sometimes to the point of totally frozen for half a minute at a stretch. I will admit, my system isn't the most robust (dual core, 2Ghz CPU, only 5 Gig of RAM, GeoForce 8400gs vid card). But I am able to run on either Windows or Linux (most packs seem to run faster on linux for me), I can set graphics options to fast, I've tried both with and without Optiplex, and I can run much larger mod packs without having performance issues. I am hoping I am missing a setting or option somewhere that's just making life difficult for me with a cool mod pack. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Did you try deleting and re-installing the pack? Would be probably the first thing I'd try.

One thing that I noticed was that I was getting 'squid explosions' that would bring my FPS to a crawl. Are you in/near an ocean biome? (You can also check the number of spawns on the minimap and/or the display in the lower right.)
