Alrighty, so I really want to get going on power transfer but I need to know some things. First, What is the limit on redstone energy conduits for transporting power? What is the loss rate on them? Is there a better method of transporting power? What is the best way to transport massive amounts of energy? (300krf/t+)

I plan to make massive amounts of power and I need to know what limits there are, like what does a big reactors power tap limit its output to? Does it even have a limit? Can anyone give me all these stats for all these different cables and what their limits are? Thank you.

Redstone energy conduits have no loss or throughput limit. They are however limited to 10k RF/t per connection. Tesseracts have no limits and can be directly placed on the power tap of a big reactor to transfer all power. Ender IO has cables that can take a little over 20k RF/t. I think Mekanism cables top out at a little over 12k RF/t. In the latest update of Rotarycraft, Reika added an unlimited RF cable to handle the output of his reactors. Those cables and tesseracts should be able to handle anything you can make.

Ohohohoho. This sounds fun. Sigh, guess I have to update those mods now, sounds like some neat features! Any idea on what the extra utilities cables are like?

tesseracts...i have tesseracts (all on same channel) on an array of 10 big reactor turbines, pulling over 320k rf/tick combined. then i plug these into mfr drill prechargers, im running 32 laser drills with that setup (2 prechargers per drill, 5k rf/t per precharger).

Well, to take 300k RF/t out of your reactor, will require 30 power taps using RECs.

Use tesseracts. Each one can facilitate 60k RF/t, (6 sides). Energy cells will have to be split between input and output, meaning they can only facilitate half.

But I thought tesseracts did not have limits to how much they can transfer?

They don't, but the things you connect to it, to transfer the power, do. i.e. If you want to move energy out of it using redstone energy conduits, that energy conduit can only transfer 10k RF/t per connection. Six connections = 60k RF/t.

That's only if you use TE energy conduits. Other conduits have much higher limits.

Best way to transfer power is a mixture of tesseracts and limitless RF cable from rotarycraft.

You can use tesseracts for unlimited power transfer if the source tesseract is directly adjacent to the machine generating the power, and the target tesseract directly adjacent to the power storage device. Tested with a fusion reactor outputting 17 GW into a 5 GRF power storage. Effective transmission rate: 3 MRF/t. Time to fill the complete power storage: less than two minutes.

ElectriCrafts RF transfer cable works with TE Energy Cells as long as is there *no* tesseract connection in-between (a really odd behaviour), and appears to have problems with EnderIO capacitor banks (I couldn't get it to work). Haven't tried Mekanism batteries. Are there other RF-compatible power storage options?

Not if you stick the tesseract right on the power output with no connecting cable. They can soak up however much you throw at them, it's just the cables connecting to them that cause problems.
