Mystical Agriculture no experience chunks

I've killed dozens and dozens of mobs with the soulium dagger thing. I've gotten tons of cow chunks when killing deer/cows. When I went out killing hostile mobs, I got a few zombie chunks, and 1 experience chunk. It's supposed to have a 10% chance from "any" mob. I'm sure I've killed well over a hundred mobs now, and have only gotten one. I've enchanted the dagger with things like unbreaking and looting and sharpness, does that hurt my chances somehow? Any advice on how to get more experience chunks? Is it really any mob? Or do certain ones have better odds?

So I did end up getting more chunks, but it's just that the odds are probably lower than advertised. I imagine mods that affects mobs might change the rates or something. Either way, it does work, you just have to kill a LOT of things. I got a cow farm with dozens and dozens of cows, and I'd feed them all, then slaughter tons.
Also, things like looting DO increase chunk drops. You can also adds stuff like sharpness to help.
