Dense Ores ages will -always- have instability. This is an attempt to balance the page. There are ways around it (cave world with intentional Lighting strikes can sometimes minimize the damage), but otherwise there would be no downside to using this as an OP mining world.

Besides, its much more fun to make a mining world with as many Dense Ores pages as you dare, then seeing how much you can rip from the world before it eats itself around you (escaping at the last second through a Linking Book home, hopefully). A decent TiCo hammer, a set of Forestry bags, and the knowledge that keeping moving is your best defense is all you need. Once the destruction has caught up with you, link home, delete the age, and build a new age with the same pages. It may still be OP, but at least there is some personal risk and time investment.
