I have an idea to make a mod that completely revamps the current renewable fuel system. It would add lots of different fuels, and different ways of combining and upgrading these fuels, to add to the complexity and possible builds.

I do NOT know how to code, and i DO NOT know how to model textures, but i think i have some pretty good ideas here. Bash all you want, it's what i'm here for, critics, ideas, compliments, suggestions, people who like my idea and want to make it a reality. Remember, it's all just an idea... Everything is subject to change.

Changes from regular Forestry:

> The Fermenter and Still are no longer craftable. (Along with their Recipes)
> Biomass and Biofuel are completely reworked.
> Biogas Engine can no longer burn Biomass, Water, Liquid Honey, Milk or Apple Juice.
> Apples can no longer be squeezed in a squeezer. (There's not any more real use for Apple Juice)
> More fuels added: Ethanol, Methane, Nitromethane, Biodiesel, High Octane Biodiesel, High Octane Fuel, Gasohol.
> MORE FOOD! Also Deep Fried Food. Yum.
> Misc. Recipes involving Yeast.
> A LOT of Alcoholic Beverages. They are (somewhat)useful.

- Ethanol

Ethanol production:

- The Fermentation Barrel. Crafted with 7 Logs in a Cauldron shape with a Wooden Plank on top. It can be used either as a Multiblock or as a single block, but only in Cubes, from 1x1x1 (single block) to 7x7x7 (biggest multiblock). Each block adds 10 Buckets to the internal tank, and each bigger multiblock is 20% faster than the last one(cumulative), so the largest multiblock can hold 343 buckets and is about 3.5x as fast as the single block.

To produce the Yeast needed for the industrial fermentation/distillaton process that produces pure Ethanol, you need to start with the natural fermentation of starchy/sugary liquid, in order to make that Yeast multiply itself so that you can extract it and purify it later. This block has several recipes, but the first one is just Water + Apple/Sugarcane/Wheat, which produces Fermented Broth, a non-placeable liquid that you can extract out of the machine using Cans/Buckets/Cells, but not pipes.

By placing the Fermented Broth in the crafting grid with a piece of Wool, you soak the liquid out and get your Raw Yeast and your Bucket back. The Raw Yeast can be dried in the Furnace to get your Pure Yeast.

- The pure form of Yeast unlocks several new recipes with the Fermentation Barrel. First, it opens up the use of other options in the interface, one of which is the Fermentation Cycle. It has three settings: 1/4 Cycle, Half Cycle and Full Cycle.

This controls for how long the fermentation process will continue before stopping, and this in turns effects how much alcohol content the final product will have.

The second option it unlocks, is Starch Concentration.

It also has three settings: 1/4 Saturation, 1/2 Saturation, Full Saturation. This setting effects how much Alcohol Content the final product will have, as well as the time it takes, but it also effects what the final product will be, in the case of drinks. (Will talk about it later.). Saturation also effects how much Water will be in the Mixture, while the Cycle setting effects how much Yeast is going to be effectively used (1x the amount on Full Saturation, half on half, 1/4 on 1/4 setting). The final slot is for Spices, and it's used to modify drinks, and in a few recipes. (SECRET RECIPES! Dark Beer, Root Beer, Ambrosia Cider, Death Tequila, Miner's Vodka, Hell Liquor... ABSINTHE!)

- To produce pure Ethanol, you will want to start by setting the Fermentation Barrel with Full Cycle and Full Saturation. How many resources you use, is determined by what crop you're using in the Fermentation Barrel(Crops with more

sugar require less yeast to get the same amount of alcohol)

Cacti: 1 cacti requires 6 Yeast - Possible Drinks: Tequila, Mezcal
Potato: 1 Potato requires 4 Yeast - Possible Drinks: Vodka, Bourbon Whiskey
Apple: 1 Apple requires 2 Yeast - Possible Drinks: Apple Cider, Liquor, Vodka
Wheat: 1 Wheat requires 1 Yeast - Possible Drinks: Weiss Bier, Whiskey, Vodka
Sugarcane: 2 Sugar Cane requires 1 Yeast - Possible Drinks: Mead, Rum, Cachaça
Honey: 4 honey requires 1 Yeast - Possible Drinks: Short Mead, Mead, Aqua Vitae

- Each time you ferment something in the Fermentation Barrel, the Yeast multiplies itself. Every Full Cycle gives you 4 Raw Yeast for each Yeast that was used in the Recipe, 2 Raw Yeast for Half Cycle, and 1 Raw Yeast for 1/4 Cycle.

- Pure Yeast can be combined with 3 Wheat in a Shapeless Craft to get you Baking Mixture. Baking Mixture can be cooked in a furnace to get you 2 Bread, or combined with an Milk, Egg, and Sugar to get you 2 Cakes.

- Once the Full Cycle is done, you will end up with 1 mB of Rubbing Alcohol. This still has too much water to be used as fuel, but maybe can have recipes that use it. For now, it can be piped or bucketed into the...

- Distillery. It is a multiblock structure. The first block is the Boiler Tank, made with a Furnace in the bottom, Cauldron in the middle, and Glass on top. The second block are the Boiler Valves, made with Iron in a Cauldron Shape, with

an Iron Gear in the middle and Glass on top. The third block is the Glass Tube(Glass panes on the sides of the crafting grid), which comes UP from the Boiler tank, then to the side two blocks, and then to the bottom again to the Glass

Tank, which is Glass Panes in a chest pattern. Both the Boiler Tank and the Glass Tank can be stacked like the Fermentation Barrel, in cubes, from 3x3x3 to 7x7x7, with 4 Valves in the middle of each of the cube's faces. Each Boiler Tank block adds 16 Buckets to the internal tank, and each bigger multiblock is about 20% faster than the last one(cumulative), so that the largest multiblock is twice as efficient with fuel usage than the smallest one. The Boiler uses up Coal/Charcoal for each operation, which can be made more efficient by making a bigger Boiler Tank, but one bucket of Rubbing Alcohol will always convert to 0,7 Buckets of Ethanol. The Distillery has three input slots, two for liquids, one for items, and one output slot for liquids. Coal/Charcoal/Coal Coke can be piped into the Distillery through any of the Boiler Tank blocks. The Valves can be configured be connected to any of the slots, kind of like TE machines.

- To convert Rubbing Alcohol into Ethanol, you pipe or bucket it into one of the two liquid input slots, and give the boiler fuel. The other inputs are used in different recipes to enhance or produce different fuels.

- 1 mB of Ethanol would burn at 5MJ/t in a Combustion Engine for 40000 ticks. It can also be used in a Liquid Fueled Firebox and produces 32000 heat.

- Methane (Natural Gas)

Methane is also a very nice fuel source, that can reliably be produced with waste product by exploring natural decomposition of organic matter. Being a gas, it is a bit trickier to transport and maintain than Liquid fuel sources, and also requires different, specialized engines for it. Production is a slow and relatively inefficient process, but it has the advantage of being nearly completely passive, and being able to be accomplished with nearly anything. You just need bacteria, moisture, and darkness.

Methane Production:

- Biodegradation Tank. The Biodegradation Tank is a multiblock structure, using the Biotank(Bronze on the sides, with glass on the top and bottom). The Multiblock is built as such: any square from 2x2 to 7x7 of Biotanks, with 1 water source block beneath each Biotank, and dirt above each of the Biotanks, with no air blocks in between. When the Multiblock is formed there are three valves, one for input and two for output. The GUI has two input slots for any plant or animal matter, with two outputs, one for Methane and the other for Compost.

- In each cycle, the Biodegradation Tank will attempt to convert 1 Plant and 1 Animal matter into Methane. If there is only Plant matter, it will convert each one into 0,1 mB of Methane, and if there's only Animal Matter, it will convert each one into 0,2 mB of Methane, but if both types are present, it will convert both at once into 0,5mB of Methane. The machine's Efficiency isn't affected by the size of the multiblock, but it can be affected based on how high above the ground it is. The higher the Biodegradation tank is, the less effective it will be. The multiplier is 1.0x at Y Level 50, and increases by 10% for every 10 blcoks blow, and decreases by 10% for every 10 blocks above, so that the machine stops working altogheter after Y level 150.

- The Gaseous Methane cannot be transported via buckets, cans, capsules or cells, so it has to be piped out. But you can build the Refrigeration Tank, which is a multiblock structure, which will convert 10mB of Gaseous Methane into 1mB of Liquid Methane for an MJ cost of 100 mJ per bucket of Gaseous Methane, which can then be put into cans or capsules, or piped out of the Refrigeration Tank. To build the multiblock, you build a 3x3, 5x5, or 7x7 floor out of Snow Blocks, build up the corners 3, 5 or 7 high(depending on the size of the floor), and put Ice on the sides. with the Refrigeration Hull as the center block of the Snow Floor. The Refrigeration Hull is built with two Ice on either side, an Iron Gear on the bottom right and left sides, a Lapis Lazuli block on the bottom middle, and three Iron on the top row. The Refrigeration Tank has two internal tanks for input and output that hold 16mB per Block in the structure, including air blocks. (The same amount of Storage as a Railcraft Iron Tank). Once the Multiblock is formed, 4 Valves appear on each one of the 4 sides, which can be wrenched to be either Input or Output.

- Gas Fueled Firebox: To build it, you just need to craft some Bronze Plates. Bronze Plates are made in a Rolling Machine like Iron or Steel plates, but using Bronze Ingots. Then to build the Gas Fueled Firebox, it's the same recipe for the Liquid Fueled Firebox, using Bronze Plates instead of Steel Plates.

- For use in the Boilers, Gaseous Methane is more efficient than Ethanol. In the Gas Fueled Firebox, it can produce more heat than Ethanol, at 48000 heat compared to 32000 heat. The problem is that it's a slow process to manufacture the Methane Gas, so you need to have a LOT of Biotanks set up in order to keep up with the demands of a full sized High Pressure Boiler.

- Liquid Methane cannot be used as fuel, but it can be ENRICHED with nitrous compounds, for the production of Nitromethane. To enrich the Liquid Methane and turn it into Nitromethane, first you need to produce Nitric Acid. Luckily, the Compost produced as a byproduct of the production of Methane is rich in nitrous compounds. But first, you need to purify the compost. You need a reagent, and redstone and glowstone dust fit the bill just nice. In a crafting grid, place a water bucket, glowstone dust, redstone dust and compost in a shapeless recipe, and you get nitrous compound. In a Distillery, pipe in Water, Liquid Methane, and add Nitrous Compound in a 1x1x1 ratio to get 10 mB of Gaseous Nitromethane.

- Being a gas, it has the same restrictions as regular Gaseous Methane, and can't be picked up with buckets/cans/capsules/cells, so it needs to be piped out. It is twice as effective as Methane, meaning it will produce 96000 heat in a

Gas Fueled Firebox, the same amount of heat as regular old Fuel!

- Methane can be run on Biogas Engines for the same value as Biomass, 5 MJ/t for 10000 ticks (Which can't be produced anymore). Nitromethane can be run on Biogas Engines for 5 MJ/t for 20000 ticks.

- Biodiesel

Biodiesel is just like Diesel. Well. almost. It is nearly 100% as effective, but because it has some unwanted oxygen atoms in it's structure, it loses a little bit of efficiency. In RL, synthetic diesel (I.E, non petroleum based diesel), can be produced from Coal, Natural Gas or Biomass. It's awesome. No, seriously, it's awesome. It's as good as Diesel, but uses renewable resources. Although it impacts the environment a bit, it is still considered a green fuel.

Biodiesel Production:

- To produce Biodiesel, you first need either Seed Oil or Animal Fat. Seed Oil can be used by Squeezing seeds in the Forestry Squeezer. To get Animal Fat, first you need to cook some meat. But not in a regular furnace!

- Introducing: The Cookery. The Cookery is a 3x3x4 hollow Multiblock made out of Brick Blocks and Nether Brick. First you build a 3x3 base, and put one Nether Brick in the middle, and light it on fire with a Flint and Steel, then you complete the rest of the Multiblock with regular Brick Blocks. Inside, the GUI is very similar to a furnace, but with an added output slot for Liquid. You can use coal, Charcoal or Coal Coke as the fuel, and add in any kind of meat. The meat will be slowly cooked, about 4x slower than a vanilla furnace, and use twice the amount of fuel, but it will produce different outputs than a regular furnace, plus Animal Fat.

Raw Beef ------------> Roasted Beef (5 Haunches, 16 Saturation) + 0,5 mB Animal Fat
Raw Chicken ------> Roasted Chick (4 Haunches, 12 Saturation) + 0,3 mB Animal Fat
Raw Fish -------------> Roasted Fish (4 Haunches, 8 saturation) + 0,2 mB Animal Fat
Raw Porkchops -------> Roasted Pork (5 Haunches, 16 Saturation) + 0,8 mB Animal Fat
Rotten Flesh -------> Well-Done Meat (2 Haunches, 4 Saturation) + 0,1 mB Animal Fat
Spider Eye --------------> Roasted Eye (1 Haunch, 2 Saturation)+ 0,05 mB Animal Fat

Animal Fat can be collected in Buckets/Cans/Capsules/Cells, and used in recipes:

Fat Bucket + Raw Beef = Greasy Beef
Fat Bucket + Raw Chicken = Greasy Chicken
Fat Bucket + Raw Fish = Greasy Fish
Fat Bucket + Raw Porkchops = Greasy Porkchops
Fat Bucket + Carrot = Greasy Carrot
Fat Bucket + Potato = Raw Fries
Fat Bucket + Apple = Greasy Apple

*You can also use Seed Oil, but Fat is scientifically proven to be more tasty.

Greasy food can be cooked in a regular furnace to produce more nourishing and satisfying food! Note: All Greasy food is actually unedible before cooking.

Greasy Beef -----------> Deep Fried Steak (6 Haunches, 20 Saturation)
Greasy Chicken --------> Deep Fried Chick (5 Haunches, 16 Saturation)
Greasy Fish -----------> Deep Fried Fish (5 Haunches, 12 Saturation)
Greasy Pork -----------> Deep Fried Pork (6 Haunches, 20 Saturation)
Greasy Carrot ---------> Battered Carrot (3 Haunches, 8 saturation )
Raw Fries -------------> French Fries x8 (1 Haunch, 4 Saturation, Eats Fast)
Greasy Apple ----------> Battered Apple (1 Haunch, 4 Saturation)

- In the Fermentation Barrel, you add either:

1 mB Seed oil + 4 Compost = 1mB Biomass
or
1 mB Animal Fat + 2 Compost = 1mB Biomass

- Now that you have the Biomass, you're ready to produce Biodiesel. Pipe the Biomass into the Distillery, along with Ethanol and Compost. 1 mB of Biomass + 1 mB of Ethanol + 1 Compost will produce 1 mB of Biodiesel.

- Biodiesel is 80% as effective as regular buildcraft Fuel. It burns for 6 MJ/t in a Combustion Engine for 80000 ticks, and produces 76800 Heat on a Liquid Fueled Firebox.

High Octane Biodiesel:

- By running the Biodisel through the Distillery again with some Nitrous Compound, you can get High Octane Biodiesel.

- High Octane Biodiesel is as effective as Buildcraft Fuel, which means it produces
High Octane Fuel:

- The Distillery can be used to Refine regular Buildcraft fuel, so you can get more bang for your buck, but you can't refine Biodiesel.

- By running the Buildcraft Fuel through the Distillery with Nitrous Compound, you can convert 1mB of Fuel into 1mB of Refined Fuel.

- Refined Fuel is about 33% more efficient than Buildcraft Fuel. It will burn at 6 MJ/t for 133000 ticks in a Combustion Engine, and it will produce 127680 heat in a Liquid Fueled Firebox

Gasohol:

- By combining buildcraft Fuel with Ethanol, you can create a different kind of Fuel that isn't as efficient as regular Fuel, but more efficient than Ethanol, with a boost in your production, to get more use out of your Fuel.

--> 1 mB of Fuel + 1 mB of Ethanol = 2 mB of Gasohol

- Gasohol burns for 6 MJ/t in a Combustion Engine for 80000 ticks, and produces 76800 Heat on a Liquid Fueled Firebox. It is effectively 80% as efficient as regular Fuel.
