so everyone has mods that they like to always add to their games, using public modpacks as a base for their own modlist. and then there are those people who just go insane, and add even more more then there intially were in the modpack. to those people out there, show us what you've got!!

so, take the Monster modpack, or another FTB modpack, and add all the mods you usually play with, and post a screenshot here of how many mods you've added to the modpack with the total count of mods.

I've used the modpack Monster myself, and along with the FTB Universal Configurations I only needed to change IDs of about 3-4 mods. this is my mod count right now



I'm sure there are some of you who can do better then this ;)

Heh just kidding but yeah lots of mods, good for playing all the mods and delving deep into them. I have about mmmm 130 mods in my pack but totally different mindset, basically removed any what I would deem OP mods out. The joys of modded minecraft you can make the pack you want very easily now.

le sigh, ofcourse I expected to run into some problems, and that problem were lagg spikes happening often.
so I had to start taking off mods and I ended up removing 27 mods to finally get rid of the lagg spikes lol

@Yusunoha, mind telling me which were the ones you removed? I have issue with lag (not framerate loss) in my ssp as well but I can't seem to pinpoint which mod is the culprit.

Hey Yusu, keep us updated. It's actually very useful because we can also see the version of mods you're using. Helps us all get a better idea about compatibility.

@SonOfABirch : Perhaps you could update us with a list of your mods with versions too. Would really appreciate it!

note that not all these mods are in Monster. with these mods removed my FPS went back to normal without the lagg spikes. my guesses on which mods might be the culprit for these lagg spikes could be ATG, as this mod can gobble up alot of FPS, Lycanites Mobs, for the amount of extra mobs it generates, Mariculture, for the underwater worldgen which there's quite alot of, Quarry Plus, which this version is not the most stable one and Revamp, which they mention in their own minecraftforum topic that it may cause lag.

there's also some mods I never played with like Basic Components, EnderNet, Mimic, Random Things, Reactorcraft and XACT, so I am not sure if those could be giving problems aswell

ikr, it looks so awesome and actually makes me wants to dive in the water, but the lagg spikes... yikes :(

I'll have to try removing Mariculture then. I've been a little laggy on stock Monster since I need to upgrade to 64bit. I know a lot of people more used to ridiculously huge Resonant Rise style packs have complained about the lack of mods, but this is actually a great size for 1 gig of RAM. I plan to add Binnie's mods when they're stable and maybe Archimedes Ships if he gets the rotation issues worked out. I'd like to try Mekanism, but I think I'd rather test that in a SolitaryCraft instance first.

The lag I was having wasn't related to FPS but rather it feels like those you get from connecting to servers. Like interaction delay with inventories, broken blocks reappearing, mobs standing still in their path and suddenly all sped up, etc.

Are you guys sure Mariculture was the culprit? There are many reports coming out now that it's ATG.

I wouldn't be surprised if it could also be a combination of the two, or that both cause FPS problems but removing one of them could already drastically improve the FPS...

I get blocklag, not sure if it's Mari or ATG, or that my java arguments are crummy
Also, for me at least, it's not a framerate issue at all, its just a delay between my input and what happens

I have blocklag aswell from time to time, though it was alot worse when both Mariculture and ATG were installed.
but I had more problems with laggspikes, that constantly spiked up, causing the game to be really difficult to play, heck, try fighting a mob or evading a creeper with laggspikes

awkward thing is.. if you remove mariculture now, all their worldgen will just be replaced by air.. which for ore isn't drastically horrible.. but for kelp... that's NOT good.

I was using mariculture before atg, and removal of mariculture with atg still in, the issue was solved. In my case amyway, YMMV. :)

Its interesting that mariculture is causing the lag in Monster, when it didn't cause it in the Resonance Rise mod pack when I was playing it. I was thinking ATG was the culprit myself. I'll have to try removing one or the other to see though since I'm suffering block lag as well,not so much with lag spikes, though i have noticed it a few times.
