Details of the issue:

I am trying to start a LAN world with my sister. She has a mac with the same launcher and modpack version that I do but when I open my world to LAN she can't see it or connect to it. Even when connecting to the LAN through Direct Connect it says "Connection Refused". Can someone tell me how to fix this? I am on a PC btw. And we both have the same recommended Java installed. I am at a loss here.​

Port forwarding has nothing to do with this as LAN doesn't need to go over the Internet.

@15Thomasm if you open your world you see Local game hosted on port {some numbers for example 56132}

when using direct connect did you use {host ip}:{port} or something else?
To clarify if the host ip is 192.168.1.10 and the numbers it gave where 56132 then did you try to direct connect to 192.168.1.10:56132?

It does go through the router. But he needs to give his sister his internal IP address for his computer. Not the external public IP address.

I set one up and I used my public ip for other people to connect to me and that worked fine.
