There's a recipe in the game for 2 vanilla iron grates being macerated or pulverized into 3 tiny dust (4 of which turns back into a normal dust). Which means you get back 6 iron for 16 grates, exactly what you used to make the gates.

The macerator works fine, it pulls 2 grates every process. The pulverizer only pulls one, effectively turning each grate into 3/4th of an ingot. A stack of 16, which took 6 ingots to make, turns back into 12 ingots.

That looks like an oversight on someones part since the NEI recipe for the pulverizer says it uses 2 but indeed does not. Hopefully someone will fix it :)

Can't see this in NEI, and the bars wont macerate/pulverise. (Direpack)

"Tiny piles" are a GregTech thing. The pulverizer probably picks up the recipe by using some forge compatibility dictionary or other. The bug is that, when it does that, it doesn't recognize that the recipe requires two inputs for every process.
